Our aim is simple – to deliver your dream outdoor living space on budget and on time. Our commitment is to create quality work and deliver a quality experience.
At Island Interlock, we blend function with form to create paving stone installations and retaining wall systems that are both spectacular and solidly constructed. We bring superior craftsmanship and attention to detail to every project. Plus, when you work with us, we’ll keep track of expenses and communicate it to you to ensure there are no surprises.

Our Values
In addition to keeping our clients happy, we strive to keep our planet healthy. As opposed to other materials, such as concrete and asphalt, our paving stone installations and retaining walls are built to last without steel reinforcement, can be recycled and reused and can be engineered to return stormwater to the aquifer rather than into drainage emptying into the ocean. We source local products and services and work hard to create sustainable landscapes that have low impact on the environment but high impact on the eyes.
Our Story
We’re proud to be an independent, family-run business. Owner Mike Code began laying paving stones as a 16-year-old and has been in the industry for more than 30 years. As an owner, he strives to work for good people and provide a way for his employees to make a decent living in an area they love. Even though we’re based in the Comox Valley, we welcome clients from Nanaimo to Port Hardy. We enjoy an adventure – so remote areas are favourites!
Our Team
Our crews may be smaller than other companies’, but that’s by design. We work with the most up-to-date tools, which allows us to save time and manpower. And our smaller size makes us more accessible and responsive – you’ll get to know (and love) us by the time we’re done!
Everyone who works for Island Interlock has years of experience under their belt and the appropriate certification. Each member of our team is integral to our success – we all carry heavy things! We function well together, we enjoy what we do and we make our customers happy.
